My son's friend should have been 17 today. Him and his friends are going to the grave to lay mementoes and then going to see his Mum and take her flowers. Apparently she hasn't left the house since the funeral and won't answer calls or the door so I hope the lad's Dad is there. I have told him to get a card to go with the flowers so that they can write a little message in it so she knows that they're for her and that his friends haven't forgotten him or his family. That way they can leave them on the doorstep if she won't come to the door.
They all go and 'see' him on a regular basis, I think it still hasn't completely sunk in yet if I'm honest.
If God had meant me to touch my toes, he'd have put chocolates on the floor.

Very very sad that Sally. The death of a child must be the worst thing that can possibly happen to most people. Impossible to ever truly get over it I'd think.

Well they went to see her and she did answer the door to them and welcomed them in. From the sound of it she's beating herself up and feels that she should have known and stopped him or saved him. She's also driving herself mad by going over and over any trouble he had with any kids at school telling herself that 'he was partly responsible, she was partly responsible'. I just hope she finds some peace within herself soon. Of course him not leaving a note has meant that no-one can know what caused him to take his life, although of course everyone has their own ideas as to what drove him down the road to it.
If God had meant me to touch my toes, he'd have put chocolates on the floor.
